Chapter 1: Introduction. This chapter provides readers with an overview of the study, including rationales, aims, scope, significance and methodology to start the research. Chapter 2: Theoretical Framework This chapter delves into the theoretical foundations shaping the overall direction of the research. It commences with an examination of translation and its procedures, followed by a review of proper names and their translation. The primary aim of this chapter is to enhance the researcher's comprehension, background, and proficiency in translation as a whole, with a specific focus on the translation of proper names. Additionally, the chapter aims to provide readers with a current understanding, introducing key concepts and revisiting the perspectives of previous scholars and researchers. Chapter 3: Findings and Analysis This chapter involves a crucial examination and analysis to categorize the strategies employed in translating proper names from Vietnamese to English in the context of "Số đỏ", as well as translation of proper names from English to Vietnamese in “The Things They Carried”. It also includes examination and analysis to see how many times a strategy was employed in translating pronouns from Vietnamese to English in the context of “Số đỏ” as well as translation of pronouns in “The Things They Carried. Chapter 4: Conclusion. This chapter discusses the outcomes presented in the thesis, offers conclusions regarding the researcher's work, and proposes potential avenues, shortcomings of this research for future research.
